That is the whole reason the app exists. Names are read aloud on every question. If you cannot hear them, check that "Read names out loud" is on in Settings, that the device is not on silent, and that the volume is up.
Settings → Voice. It defaults to Australian and lists the English voices installed on that device, so the list is short until you add more. Higher quality voices download from Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, and appear here once they have.
Turn off "Show the picture as a clue". The symbol rounds then give no visual hint at all, which is a genuine step up rather than a cosmetic one.
By design. Elements your child has not met come up more often, and the first 36 are weighted a little higher because that is where the familiar names live. Three correct answers and an element counts as learned, after which it appears less.
Settings → Reset progress. It clears every element’s learned count and cannot be undone.
None of the three. The app has no networking code whatsoever, so nothing can leave the device. See the privacy page.
They are drawn by the app, not photographed. Each one is generated from the element’s colour, its state at room temperature, and the shape a real sample comes in. An element always draws itself the same way.
Please tell me. There are 118 of them written for an early reader, and being right matters more than being tidy. Email the element and what is wrong.
